I am Myrlene Homy. I was born in Cap-Haitian, Haiti to my parents, Maria Philomena Dolce and Joseph Chaba Homy. I spent 16 years in Haiti, where I learned the basic formation of life and was baptized in the Christian Faith at age 15. I moved to Miami, Florida in the US at age 16 where I continued to grow both personally and spiritually; I have been living here for over 35 years. I attended high school, graduated and went on to obtain my Bachelor and Master degrees in Social Work from two prestigious Universities: Florida International University and Barry University. I am a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI), awaiting examination for my licensure to become an LCSW. About five years ago, I have rededicated my life to Christ at the Miami Dade Church of Christ where I have been an active member. Professionally, I work as a School Social Worker with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools providing individual and group counseling, case management, home visitation, community resources, etc. to children with Special Needs and their parents. I have led services and prayer events at several churches in my community, as well as, presented on several important topics of the time. I do my best to link and reflect on what God and the Bible have to say about those issues as I present them to my audience. I’m happy to be on the board.
